Annual Missions Event
Each November we carve out some time to purposefully discuss the needs of others beyond the four walls of our church. There’s more to our world than the regular 9 to 5 job and the hectic schedule at home with the kids. The reality is, others have deep needs that go on every day outside of our lives.
By building partnerships with select ministries, we make a commitment to support them throughout the year with financial resources, time and various donations.
Faith promise giving
Financial support for missions is something we do beyond our regular giving (tithe) to our church. We base our missions giving on the Biblical principle found in 2 Corinthians chapters 8 & 9, where churches in the New Testament gave money to help other churches.

Barnabas Africa
Each summer, for the past several years, we’ve sent pastor Paul and his wife to Rwanda. They, along with the Barnabas Africa leadership team spend a month traveling to key towns to teach and equip pastors and their wives in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and discipling the members of their churches.
Today, several local pastors in Rwanda have grown into leadership roles and are teaching other pastors there. How we support them is changing to match their needs as they become self sufficient.
Boise Bible College
Situated in Boise, ID, Boise Bible College prepares men and women for ministry all over the world. Their commitment to supporting the local church has been a blessing to our FCC family. We are excited to welcome two campus ambassadors in November to keynote our annual Faith Promise Weekend. It is our joy to support BBC as they continue to train and equip minds for evangelism.
Christian Encounters Ministries
Overcoming the cycle of brokenness, one story at a time. CEM’s purpose is to change the trajectory of young people’s lives. These students come from troubled situations and are embraced in a loving environment surrounded by leaders, interns and volunteers living out a Christ centered life.
We not only support CEM financially but also volunteer for Serve Days events and a couple of us have even participated in the Agony Ride, a grueling 24 hour endurance cycling fundraiser.
I.D.E.S.
International Disaster Emergency Services is a ministry that provides disaster relief, development aid, and evangelism for people in need around the world.
One of the ways we support this Christ centered ministry is through the SonFish program. Church members use the plastic fish to gather loose change and greenbacks and then send the financial donations to I.D.E.S.
Key Communications
Lee Turner, from our home town of Orland, is our missionary to the Muslim World, focusing on radio broadcasts into Pakistan and the use of the worldwide web.
We give to this ministry in order to touch the lives of Muslims who otherwise would not hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
Providence Christian School
Providence Christian School is located right in Orland! They give the families of our community a priceless, Christ centered, education with high academic standards. Our Children’s Ministry leader is a teacher there.
We support this ministry financially and also tackle special projects to maintain and improve the campus.
William Jessup University
For many years William Jessup University (WJU) has been a true partner with First Christian Church of Orland. While we give financially to support this incredible university, they have shared their best student pastors and university leaders for special weekend messages.
Operation Christmas Child | Shoebox
Each fall we prepare shoeboxes full of various sundries and gifts for children in poor villages all over the world. These shoeboxes become the touchpoint to bring the Good News of Jesus to children and families.
